The second of our Q&As is with Olly Taylor, one of the 5 dads aiming to cycle round the M25 in 2 days in aid of the CSA this month. Ahead of his epic journey we caught up with him to ask him a few questions. You can support Olly and the Dads atwww.justgiving.com/M25Dads
Q. So who are you and which classes are your children in?
Oliver Taylor and my daughter Millie is in Robin in the Infants school.
Q. What was your first thought when the idea was put to you?
An exciting but very challenging way to raise money for the CSA
Q. What bike do you ride?
I have three. A Specialized Road Bike, A Specialized Hybrid, which I used for off-road and going into town, and an old second hand Cinzia folding bike which I bought to do up and of course haven’t.
Q. What are you most looking forward to?
The end (at that end hopefully being back at Cassiobury on day 2)!
Q. What are you least looking forward to?
The distance and the time and speed pressure.
Q. How is the training going?
I started later than I wanted for a variety of reasons and wish I had been able to do more mileage by now. I’m now almost out of time. This is going to be a really tough ask for me.
Q. Men in lyrca look odd? What do you say to that?
Depends where they wear it! On a bike is fine. Down the Essex Arms on a Saturday night? Hey, each to their own, but it wouldn’t be my choice of evening wear!
Q. What’s the furthest you’ve ever ridden in one day to date?
Just over 72k, or just under half the distance we’re aiming for on day 1….
